The Residence at Boyertown Ready to Redefine Senior Living as 2026 Opening Nears
Published on October 21, 2025
BOYERTOWN, Pa. – The Residence at Boyertown senior living community will bring personalized, resident-centered care in a modern building set to open in February 2026. Operated by Weathervane Senior Living, the three-story, approximately 131,000-square-foot community will include 126 apartments -- 54 independent living units, 50 personal care units and 22 memory care units.
Once fully staffed, the community is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs in Colebrookdale Township.
The Residence at Boyertown is located off Montgomery Avenue at Swamp Creek and Moser Lane, offering convenient access to area amenities while serving as a new hub for senior living in Berks County.
“We are excited to bring The Residence at Boyertown to life,” said Nicole Groff, Executive Director. “This community will provide a modern, welcoming environment for seniors, with care options that allow residents to stay under one roof even as their needs change.”
A hallmark of the design is flexibility. Residents will have access to multiple levels of care through month-to-month leases. That means an individual who begins in independent living can later transition to personal care or memory care without leaving the community.
Why The Residence at Boyertown Stands Out
The Residence at Boyertown is built around personalized, resident-centered care. Each care plan is customized to the individual. This ensures that support evolves with every resident’s unique needs.
“Our Memory Care program is especially distinctive,” Groff said. “By drawing from each resident’s personal life story, our team creates meaningful, individualized programming that supports cognitive engagement. This includes techniques rooted in neuroplasticity and parallel programming, giving residents opportunities to connect, grow and experience joy in daily life.”
Residents will also benefit from the community’s state-of-the-art emergency call system and advanced technologies such as Open Sesame, an automatic door-opening system that enhances accessibility and independence.
For those in Personal Care, The Residence at Boyertown offers:
24-hour trained staff and assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming
Medication management
Three nutritious meals prepared daily
Weekly housekeeping and linen service
A full calendar of social, religious, recreational and educational programs
Complimentary Wi-Fi to stay connected with loved ones
Independent Living residents will enjoy an active, socially connected lifestyle.
“The Independent Living experience is designed to foster freedom, purpose and connection,” said Vicki Kriczky, The Residence at Boyertown’s Sales Director. “While our team handles daily responsibilities, residents are free to pursue their passions, stay active and build meaningful friendships, all in a setting that feels like home.”
Meeting a Growing Need
The development reflects a larger, local demographic trend. Nearly one in five residents in nearby counties is age 65 or older -- about 18.5% in Berks County and roughly 19.4% in neighboring Montgomery County. Colebrookdale Township has a sizeable older-adult population, according to Census.gov.
At the same time, the demand for memory care is rising: an estimated 7.2 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s in 2025, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. County-level estimates indicate roughly 11 to 11.5% of Berks County’s 65-plus residents (about 8,600 people) are living with Alzheimer’s. “These statistics underscore the need for high-quality memory care and comprehensive senior services close to home,” Groff said.
The Residence at Boyertown is designed with those realities in mind. The community will feature modern amenities, beautifully landscaped grounds and welcoming spaces that encourage social connection, wellness and family visits.
“The Residence at Boyertown represents more than a new building,” said Terri Sanelli, Weathervane Senior Living Regional Director of Operations. “It represents a commitment to seniors and their families throughout Berks County and the surrounding region. This community also represents an investment in the resources needed to help our residents thrive.”
With the opening planned for February 2026, The Residence at Boyertown is poised to become a cornerstone of senior living in Berks County, blending independence, compassionate care and peace of mind for residents and their loved ones.
